Teachers are the torch bearers of the Gen-next - Rishi Choudhary

Faridabad ( )Teachers play an important role in making their students responsible citizens of tomorrow and good human beings. It is a very special occasion for the students to show their love and respect for their teachers. Though different countries celebrate Teachers’ Day on different dates, the purpose and spirit of the celebration is the same. In India 5th September is celebrated as Teachers’ Day as a mark of tribute to the contribution made by teachers to the society.
The school celebrated the Teachers’ Day with incredible gusto and zeal. The day had an emotional and recreational touch. The celebration commenced with the morning assembly conducted by the teachers. Then the Chairman of the school Mr. Rishi Choudharydelivered the speech by giving a tribute to Dr. SarvapalliRadhakrishnan.
The day began with excited giggles and hushed voices as senior students took over as ‘Teachers for the Day’, dressed up to look ‘teachers in saris and formal suits’. The students took full responsibility for maintaining the decorum. The teachers handed over their charges to the respective representatives of class 12. The Head Boy of the school AnujRawat andthe Head GirlIshaPadheytook the responsibilities of the Chairperson and the Director.
The students made the stage come alive with wonderful dance performances. The most highlighted event was the enchanting dance performance  by the teachers. After the celebration in the school lunch was served.Then all the teachers alongwith management went to watch movie Baadshaho at Crown Interiorz Mall, Faridabad. After the snacks and tea were served in the school.The whole programme was followed by the felicitation of teachers for their outstanding performance in different fields for the session 2016-2017. Ms. ManishaSingh and Ms. Mithleshwere honoured with the ‘Best Teacher’ award from the senior and junior wing respectively while Ms. RituSahaybagged the 100% attendance award. Ms. LeenuKaul, Dilip Paul, Mahesh Arya, Maimuna and Ms. Sulekha Sharmawere specially awarded for completing successful 10 years in the Columbian family. A special achievement award was given to Mr. Ashish Baluni for being selected for Commonwealth Games and Mr. Raju for winning Gold Medal in the 16th Haryana State Kickboxing Championship 2017.
The programme ended with the encouraging words by the Chairman of the school Mr. Rishi Choudhary. It was truly a proud day for the teachers to bask in the love and attention they received from their students!
