YMCA alumni assured every possible help to students to find right kind jobs.

Faridabad, August 07,2016( )The YMCA University of Science and Technology, Faridabad organised a special interactive session between the alumni and academicians of the University. The objective of the discussion was to promote the practical skill based quality education among students and to bridge the gap between the Industry and Academia courses.The interactive session was attended by all deans, chairpersons and senior faculty of the University. A number of alumnus between 1975 and 1979 passing out batches participated in the discussion.The alumni, who are well settled in their entrepreneurship and holding respectable positions in the corporate sector, shared their experiences. They stressed on the need to further improvement in academic programmes of the University to enhance the capabilities of the students.

Welcoming the alumni, Prof. Sandeep Grover, Dean (Institutions) apprised that a lot of initiatives have been taken by the University to further improve the quality of academic programmes as well as imparting better practical training and industrial exposure to the students. Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and Career Counselling Cell (CCC) have been set up in the University to improve the quality of academic programmes and to provide career related guidance to the students.With the view to impart better practical training to the students, two Centres of Excellence have also been set up in the University with Industrial tie-up to bridge the gap between industry and academia and also to improve employability and self-competence of students, he added.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Sanjay Sharma said that alumni are the brand ambassadors of the University who can play important role in the institution. Emphasizing on making the link between the institution and alumni more active and meaningful, he said that alumni should serve as mentors to passing out students for helping-guiding them to get right kind of jobs.Mr. Anil Khera, alumnus of 1975 batch also addressed the session and assured to extend every possible assistance and cooperation to the University from MOB – the YMCA Alumni Association.On this occasion, the group of alumni also visited various departments of the University and observed the facilities being provided to the students.Those present on the occasion included Mr. Naresh Grover, Mr. Lakhwinder Singh, Mr. Sunil Bajaj, Mr. Parveen Sharma and Mr. Mukesh Malik.
